How to Play Baccarat - Baccarat Game

Now that we have deduced how good players often try to win, let's figure out exactly how to play baccarat.

The baccarat game starts with two hands, the player hand and the bank hand. You can bet on either one. If you the hand you wagered on wins, you get an even (1:1) payoff. There is also a third bet, the tie bet. If you make this bet and both hands tie, you get an 8:1 payoff. This only happens about once in every ten hands though. To start, each hand receives two cards. If necessary, more cards are drawn according to the baccarat casino game rules. When learning how to play baccarat, it is important to learn the following card values.

In baccarat, Jacks, Queens, Kings and 10s all have a value of zero. The ace through to the 9 card all are worth the value of their number (Ace is worth 1). Anytime a hand total is over 10, we use the last digit only.

Should the first two cards total nine, you have a natural hand and you automatically win. If the first two cards total eight, it is also a natural and also wins. The only exception is if there is another natural at the same time. If one is nine and one is eight, nine wins. If they are both equal, it is a tie. If there is no natural, more cards are drawn to determine the outcome of the hand.
